Reunion

Boy, it's been over a week since I've posted anything. The big news is, I will have a career change in the next two weeks. Bout damn time, I've been interviewing my ass off over the past month, and surprised I have not gotten fired from my current job with all the time I've taken off. But the good thing, is that my payers were answered and I will start a new job.

Attended my family reunion last weekend and had a ball, and I mean it was one of those family reunions like (if you can remember the movie Poetic Justus) in the movies. Outside, games, grilling, card playing, ribs, chicken, burgers, dogs, potato salad, greens, mac and cheese, bake beans, fried turkey, chicken and rice, red punch, beer, sweat potato pie, sweat tea, pound cake, and oh yeah Crown Royal. I don't need to say anymore, cause this is how we do it in the south.

Sometimes I like to sit here and play the WHY game:
Why is gas so damn high?
Why is it so hard for someone to call you back, when they ask if they can do that?
Why was the high in Chicago 73 degrees on Monday when it was 103 in Florida when I was there on Sunday?
Why do they ask you not to flush the toilet after a drug test?
Why is Eddie Murphy in the news so much lately?
Why did they not have the Internet when l was a child?
Why is it a surprise that Kanye West is on the cover of Time Magazine?
Why are there so many Cadillac's in the projects?
Why is Nick Cannon hosting 106 & Park?
Why do people talk so loud on a cell phone in public places?
Why is our President on vacation when there is a war going on?
Why are they always messing with Terrell Owens?
Why did I see this old woman at the bar the other night ordering a Gin and Milk?

Thanks God Football season is right around the corner, that means early service on Sunday mornings.....

Interviews
Man, over the last week, I've gone to three interviews but the one today took a lot out of me (kicked my ass)...Because of the rain, and Peeps on the Kennedy not knowing how to drive, I was 5 minutes late. But after the intro I was shown to a room with a computer, and told to login with a user name and password. Then proceed to take a test that would not be timed, and on the desk there was a note pad, pencils, a calculator, and some type of slide rule. I was like "you got to be kidding"...But I used all of them. It took me one hour to answer 30 questions, involving fraction, gross profit, net sales, gross margins, % rates, and a bunch of other stuff that I wondered if I would ever use on this job. I knew I had fail, and almost did not care, but after it was graded I was told that I passed and would be interview in a moment. That went well, other then feeling like I was being drilled by a female "Drill Sergeant". So the second interview was set up for this coming Monday. Man, if I did not have go back to my job, I would have slammed two beers and a shot. What we go through to better our careers, get a more paying job, or just to get out of the "pain in the ass" job we have now...After it was all over I inhaled....

You Football fans, did you see the halftime interview that Terrell Owens gave tonight, during the Packer's vs Charger's game? He and his agent laid into the Eagles front office, after being asked to leave the Eagles camp. Terrell was like "I Can Wait You Out Because You Need Me So Much." LOL, I love it......

Keep it up,
KD

I love this time of year in Chicago!

Nothing to special to report of the last two days. Started the week off Monday morning by playing tennis (won 6-0,6-0), what a great way to start off your week.
Guess my mind is still stuck on not being able to see the one person I really want to be in company with. I keep telling myself it's over, but the feelings are still deep, because each day they are on my mind, but that's another Blogg for later.

I've learn the value of friendship, what a good feeling it is for friends to call and check up on you when they have not heard from you in a few days. And also meeting new friends, is a plus. The last two days I've had lunch with two new potentail friends, where no bull sh*$ or sex was involved

Oh how I love Chicago, this time of year. The downtown area was packed today for lunch, people of all colors, and fashion were out. Tourist or the work force, people were everywhere, filling the streets as well as the stores and restaurants. And I love outside eating and people watching.

Until next time, KD

Sunday Morning!

Woke up this morning feeling lonely, so called a buddy for breakfast. Of course he was still sleeping, but he called back and said, Steven and I are meeting at Wishbone around 11am. I'm like that's two hours away, and I'm hungry now! Well I waited till 11, drove to Wishbone to find that they were not there, and neither answered their cell phones. By this time not only was I hungry but pissed as well. Every place I went downtown was packed, and I don't like eating alone in a packed place. So I decided to come back home, catch the train downtown and have a "Me day". Treated myself to a nice lunch, and a movie. By the way, I highly recommend Hustle & Flow, it was excilent.
For someone that brags on not needing a lot of people to hang or be around, I really wanted to spend the day with someone and not be alone, but as I sit here now, have not been in the company of anyone.
Oh well, that's how the wind blows sometimes
